ANZA-BORREGO DESERT STATE PARK

December 30, 2008
We camped or is it RVed in the desert last night. This California state park about 70 miles east of San Diego prides itself on allowing free unlimited off road camping pretty much anywhere in the park. And so with advice from a ranger we drove off the road where we saw some other RVs and spent the night. Dusk, the night sky and dawn were spectacular with only the minor annoyance (which Barbara and I laughed about) of some kids buzzing around in their ATV’s for a short while in the evening.
The place is much like Death Valley with its high dry colorful mountains surrounding us on the broad valley floor.
