The first was to see the mud pots (which as loyal readers know that I've been on the lookout for good mudpots since our visit to Yellowstone)...saw a few and also fumaroles (great word!) and other hot, roiling, earthen clay and mud. Delicious...
And we were accompanied by a class of third-graders with few budding naturalists - most dramatically gagging about the sulphuric smells and complaining "I'm dying," about the three-mile round trip hike. Nice to see and hear those few who were mesmerized by theses sites and exclaimed -- Cool - about these Hot features.
